A rocky landscape in early summer under a purple sky

Germany

Here I show you some photos from the country where I live. It might not be as spectacular as some other places I have visited. But you can also find some very beautiful landscapes and picturesque cities in Germany.

The picturesque fishing town St. Ives on a sunny day.

Cornwall

Steep cliffs lined by coastal flowers, wide sandy beaches, secluded coastal villages and colorful gardens - all this can be found in Cornwall. No matter the season, Conrwall is always worth a visit.

Portugal, Praia da Marinha, sea, coast, beach, sun, warm

Portugal

More than four years lie between my two visits to Portugal. 2011 I visited the Sintra area near Lisbon and four years later I went back there for one week and then explored the Algarve in the south for another week. Both areas are beautiful and always worth a visit.

France, Provence, Lavender, field, valensole

France

In 2015 I visited France for the first time and I can already tell that this wasn't my last visit. I went to the Provence region and also explored the Cote d'Azure. The landscape there is wonderful and especially in the back country lie some beautiful little villigas to explore.

Magnificent view accross the Hooker Valley outlet from the Sealy Tarns

New Zealand

Visiting New Zealand was a long-held dream of mine and it finally came true. And my expectations were exceeded. This country is so diverse and its landscapes so amazing. In New Zealand you'll find it all: glaciers, rainforest, spectacular mountains and coastlines, waterfalls, green, rolling hills and much more.

The view of St. Paul's Cathedral from Millennium Bridge during blue hour

London

In summer I spent three wonderful days in London, one of my favourite Cities. I love the architecture, the mix of old and new. But there are far too many photogenic places to visit in this short time. That's why I set my focus to Westminster, Millennium Bridge, Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square.

Warm Sunrise at a lagoon with a high mountain rising in the distance

Mauritius

Mauritus lies in the indian Ocean a little bit south of the equator east of Africa. The island is very diversified, so besides fantastic beaches you'll find mountains, jungle and waterfalls for there for example.

The famous Golden Gate Bridge, illuminated by artifical light under a blue sky

US west coast

In May I travelled for two weaks along the west coast of the United States from Seattle in the north down to San Francisco. In between I visited many of the spectacular beaches of Washington, Oregon and California. But in this gallery you'll also find photos of the Columbia River Gorge as well as the famous Redwoods.

Spectacular mountains rising straight out of the sea and a small tower on a rocky outcrop facing the sunset.

Corsica

October in Corsica was wonderful. The weather was as good as one could wish for. The landscape on this island is fantastic: next to spectacular coasts there are 8000 feet high mountains only a few miles away.

Prague, the golden city under a red sky

Prague

In the last years I've been to Prague three times. For me it is one of the most beautiful cities I've been so far. The architecture, the little streets, the restaurants, Charles Bridge, the castle are only a few reasons to visit Prague.

A dramatic sunset reflects on the hexagonal rocks of Giants Causeway in Antrim.

Northern Ireland and Donegal

Northern Ireland and Donegal in my opinion is that part of Ireland with the most spectacular coast line. Giants Causeway and Slieve League, to name just a few, are awe inspiring. Despite the unpredictable weather this area is great for traveling.

A granite rock at Anse Source d' Argent facing the sea and the setting sun.

Seychelles

For a change I went south to some warmer area. The Seychelles are paradise on earch. Wonderful secluded beaches, palm trees, always warm and many photo opportunities. I visited La Digue and Praslin, two of the inner seychelle islands and here I show you some of my favourite photos of the trip.

A lonely lighthouse on the rocky shores of Bracelet Bay near Mumbles

Wales

The second trip to the UK this year. This time I was drawn to South Wales and it's beautiful coastlines along the Gower Peninsula. Together with the adjacent Brecon Beacons South Wales is a fantastic location for photography, hiking and also if you want, relaxing on the beach.

Scenic view along the Trotternish ridge during sunrise

Scotland

In May I visited the scottish highlands for 16 days. This country is awesome. The landscapes are spectacular and the display of light can be breathtaking, if the weather permits. I visited many of the iconic landscapes in the highlands and stayed a whole week on the Isle of Skye.

Glowing sunset over a rocky coast

Sweden and Denmark

Two weeks with our car through Denmark and Sweden. The weather didn't always favour me and camping was a bit uncomfortable at times. But it was a great adventure. Highlights were Mön and Hovs Hallar.

An old tree at the edge of the grand canyon with a stormy sunrise behind

Grand Canyon

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to visit the Grand Canyon! It's such a spectacular Landmark that photos can do it no justice. Standing there on the rim you are simply overwhelmed.
